Big day at the Sussex Fire Department! Today was our annual FIREFIGHTER FOR A DAY contest day! Children from each of our local elementary schools participated in the fire safety survey which included checking out their home smoke alarms and reviewing their home fire safety plan. Four students from K-3 classes from the three schools were chosen in the draw. Today, we had a free breakfast (provided by McDonalds-Sussex), participated in fire safety training, toured the fire station and got to try a fire hose. Thank you to McDonalds and thank you to the winners of the contest and all who participated to make fire safety a priority where you live!
